Course Description

Introduction
The Graduate Diploma in Wealth Management (GDWM) is built on a strong base of four foundation courses in accounting, quantitative methods, finance and economics. This course provides the knowledge for those who wish to increase their understanding of the rapidly growing fields of wealth management, private banking and financial planning.  The program looks at the needs of high net worth investors, aspects of global wealth management, international banking and investment processes.  There is also a clear focus on Islamic banking,  the rapid growth of the global funds management industry and private equity.  Participants are taught interpersonal and business development skills.  The investment opportunities emerging in China are examined in detail.


Intensive lecture sessions
These intensive lecture sessions are presented by the lecturing staff from the Adelaide University as well as from its global network of established academics and consultants.

The lecture series provides for 8 three hour blocks held over two visits by the staff concerned and require students to invest some of their weekend time. The sessions are designed to enable the lecturer to both present the core material and interact with the students. These sessions may also involve exercises and group discussion under the direct supervision of the lecturer in charge of the course.

The average number of contact hours for an for an individual course is 30 and each course is taught over 10 weeks.

A typical intensive teaching block is as follows:

  Friday:      7.00 p.m. - 10.00 p.m.
  Saturday: 1.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.
  Sunday:    9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.

Admission Criteria

An applicant for admission to the academic program for Graduate Diploma in Wealth Management shall:

  Have qualified for a four year undergraduate program in an institution accepted by the Faculty as appropriate, OR
  Have qualified for a three year program and have relevant work experience.


The Faculty may, subject to such conditions as it may see fit to impose in each case, accept as a candidate for the degree a person who does not satisfy the requirements of Rule above but who has presented evidence satisfactory to the Faculty of fitness to undertake work for the degree.

Applicant Checklist
Applicants must submit
  Completed GDWM application form
  Certified copies of academic transcripts of existing degrees or other qualifications
  One referee report
  Two passport-size photographs
  IELTS result of 6.5 or higher (including a Writing Component score of at least 6.0) will be required (for students whose tertiary education was not in English)

Applications cannot be considered unless all the relevant information is supplied.

 

Fees
  Application fee of $107.00 upon application submission, which will be fully refunded if unsuccessful meeting the entry requirments
  Course fee of $2,407.50 for one course.
    Total course fee of 8-course GDWM program is $19,260.00
  Tuition fees are charged on the basis of the number of subjects taken in a given term and are due 2 weeks prior to the start of the term.
 Course fees cover course notes and textbooks.

(NOTE: All fees are inclusive of 7% GST)
